WOULD REPUBLICANS SUPPORT OBAMA IF A 9/11 HAPPENED ON HIS WATCH? George Bush received 8 warnings prior to the 9/11 attacks, including a memo from the CIA titled, “Bin Ladin Determined To Strike in US.” Bush ignored every one of the warnings and did nothing to prepare his country or prevent his enemy from attacking. Never-the-less, after the attacks America, including the Democrats in congress, and a large portion of Americans still sore behind the fact that Bush was placed in power by a Supreme Court verdict and not a majority of the electorate, fell in line behind him and supported him 100%. There was no finger pointing, and no questioning of any decisions believed to be stemming from the attacks. For good or bad, Bush was basically given a blank check, co-signed by Republicans and Democrats alike, to do whatever he felt necessary in response to the worst attack on American soil in American history. And for a brief period following 9/11 America was united; the congressmen and the citizens, regardless of political affiliation, backed their president. And it was so until it was learned later that he was prone to very bad decisions and such unquestioning confidence in someone like Bush was found to be terribly misplaced. That said; my question is if an equally catastrophic calamity happened on President Obama’s watch, would those who have so much hate and racist angst against him fall in line behind him, as the detractors of Bush did with him? -- Or would they see it as yet another opportunity to attack and undermine him and the country, as they have done for 5 years now?
