WOW - Word of the Week: MEDITATION The act or process of spending time in quiet thought. We have become experts at filling our lives with noise and activities and we have lost sight of the importance of being silent, for even a short period. Quieting the mind and practicing presence carries innumerable benefits. Meditation can improve our creative thinking, our energy, stress levels, anxiety, addiction, depression, eating disorders and cognitive function. It can reduce blood pressure, pain response, stress hormone levels and even cellular health. Generally we waste our lives, distracted from our true selves, in endless activity.
