WPD Investigating Shots Fired on West Boylston Drive Worcester, MA (April 14, 2014) - On Saturday, April 12, 2014 at approximately 4:54 PM Worcester Police responded to West Boylston Drive for a report of shots fired. Arriving officers met with witnesses. The witnesses stated that two groups of males were seen standing in the middle of the road. The males were described as young, between the ages of 16 to 19. The two groups consisted of approximately 5 males each. Witnesses stated that one male brandished a handgun and fired one round into the road. The males scattered. One male ran towards a driveway of a nearby home. The suspect fired several more rounds in the direction of the male standing in the driveway. The suspect was described as a Hispanic male, 5’6”, thin build, wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt. The suspect and the group of males with him entered a mid-sized grey SUV and drove off. There were no injuries reported at the scene. Local hospitals were checked which produced negative results. Members of the WPD Detective Bureau arrived at the scene as well as the Crime Scene Unit. Several witnesses were transported to police headquarters for interviews. Evidence at the scene was collected and processed. Investigators are working on the circumstances leading up to the shooting.
