WRITERS WANTED FOR SHOWCASE If youre passionate about arts and entertainment, then Showcase has good news - were looking for contributors! As the weekly go-to source for news about movies, music, art and more in the Williamsport area, Showcase always is on the lookout for new voices to add to the conversation. If you have a passion for any of these and want to share your talents as a writer, wed love to bring you on board. Contributors should be comfortable with writing about a wide range of topics and should be able to conduct interviews - in person if necessary, otherwise on the phone and via email - and meet word count requirements. Familiarity with Associated Press style or previous journalism experience is preferred, but not necessary. Backgrounds or experience in English, communications or creative writing will be helpful as well. Interested persons also should have excellent time management skills in order to meet deadlines on a weekly basis. Send a writing sample of about 250 words and a little about yourself to the Showcase editor, Samantha Wallace, at swallace@sungazette. Information also can be dropped off in person at the front office from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday or mailed to 252 W. Fourth St., Williamsport PA, 17701, attention: Showcase editor.
