WRITTEN BY ANDREW DICKSON Winger Templeton could be left behind at Murray Park to continue his rehabilitation instead of rejoining the squad in England, Germany and Holland ALLY McCOIST has hinted David Templeton won’t travel with the squad to England, Germany and Holland for the next leg of their pre-season preparations. The winger has been out with a minor injury for the last 10 days and wasn’t part of the group which went to northern Scotland for games with Brora and Elgin. Dean Shiels, Chris Hegarty and Barrie McKay are all expected to remain at Murray Park to continue their rehabilitations from injuries last season. But although it had been hoped Templeton might be fit enough to fly out for matches with Bristol City, FC Gutersloh and Emmen, McCoist is yet to make a decision there. Ross Perry will definitely stay in Scotland as he is due to go for a scan on his ankle after damaging ligaments at Dudgeon Park on Sunday afternoon. McCoist said: “It’s possible someone will travel but I’m not so sure because I’m very, very keen the injured boys get a pre-season under their belts. “The lads who have been in working at Murray Park and away on the trip over the last few days have worked their socks off to get their fitness levels up. “They will continue to do that and it’s unfortunate for those who are a bit off the pace just now because of injuries. “We have to get the right balance with the lads who are out. There’s no point in them coming straight back into training right away. “They need to go through the same intensive training the others have already done and I am keen for them to do that. They will do that.” One player who is due to joining the touring party is Arnold Peralta and he is expected in Scotland today or tomorrow. The Honduran midfielder has been granted extra time off before starting his new career with the Light Blues in Scotland. That’s because he has spent much of the summer playing for his country and he has also been granted recuperation time from a low-grade hamstring injury. McCoist added: “Arnold pulled his hamstring against the USA in Salt Lake City but he’s coming over now. “We’ll get his medical done and we are really keen for him to travel to Germany and I’m sure he’ll be able to do that.”
