WV - Accused murderer of Mingo County sheriff committed for life to state mental facility - Tennis Maynard was accused of shooting and killing former Mingo County Sheriff Eugene Crum on April 3, 2013. The judge says in a court finding that it is assumed Maynard would have been found guilty on the charges he faced and that is why he will be committed for live in a mental health facility or until he is competent to stand trial. The court also said it believes it is unlikely that Maynard will ever be competent to stand trial.
