WXCY Salutes our local heroes at 9am, Noon and 5pm every Monday for MILITARY MONDAYS with Canby Motors Collision Repair! Todays honoree: Kristopher Scarborough, Marines 4th Combat Engineer Battalion, of Bel Air, MD Kristopher attended bootcamp at Parris Island, SC and finished in the top 10% of his platoon. He then went on to graduation from MCT on and finished his MOS as a Combat Engineer. After only 8 months in the Marines he was promoted to Lcpl. He served in Afghanistan from May of 2011 until December of 2011 with the 1st Battalion, 9th Marines, 2nd CEB. He has received many awards such as National Defense Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Sea Service Ribbon, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Marine Corps Reserve Service Medal among others. In his spare time he loves spending time with his family and friends, playing rubgy, and swimming! Nominated by his mother, Lisa, we honor Maryland native and local hero Kristopher Scarborough for his service to our country.
