Wagoner County Sheriff’s Office solves local burglary. Around 17:00 hours today Deputies responded to a call of juveniles walking down the road in the area of the 28000 block of East 750 road, just a few miles South of the City limits of Wagoner, carrying a possible shotgun & gun case. Upon arrival Deputies were unable to locate the juveniles, but the responding deputy met with neighbors and canvassed the area to obtained witness statements with descriptions of the juveniles involved and items they were carrying. While the responding Deputy was in the process of identifying the juveniles from the incident, the Wagoner County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a residential burglary in the same area where the juveniles were seen. Deputies were able to identify the stolen items as those being carried by the juveniles in the earlier call. Deputies were able to locate the residence and, with the assistance of Wagoner County investigators, generated a search warrant for the residence & the stolen property. While preparing for the search warrant service a vehicle left the residence. Deputies were able to initiate a traffic stop on the vehicle and locate two stolen guns from the burglary. At this time, two juveniles have been arrested for possession of stolen property. Sheriff Colbert credits the solving of this crime in only a few hours to the follow up work done by all the responding deputies and the alert neighbors in the area.
