He wants a $5 million fund to help pay for asbestos testing, health testing, emergency accommodation and other needs. He also called for a freeze on rates and land tax for homeowners and offered bi-partisan support to the government in any measures it took to help. Mr Fluffy homeowner Brianna Heseltine, who has set up a support and lobby group and is spearheading a possible class action, is seeking a meeting with Prime Minister Tony Abbott on the crisis. Mr Hanson said he would lobby Mr Abbott himself and would attend a meeting with Ms Heseltine to push the issue, acknowledging it would cost “hundreds of millions of dollars, no question”. “They have got to come to the table with a long-term package and a plan to solve this issue,” he said. “This circumstance here is that the federal government said they had cleaned the houses. They provided certificates to that effect. We now know that is not the case. “I hope the Commonwealth stumps up. Otherwise I assume it will go to a class action.”
