Waking up this morning to Tinkerbelle crying from a bad dream, I - TopicsExpress

Waking up this morning to Tinkerbelle crying from a bad dream, I walked over to where she had fallen asleep last night on the love seat with her mommie. She stuck her little hands in the air and I couldnt help but swoop her up and cuddle her back to sleep. At that moment I was so moved by her little head snuggled into my neck and her curly hair tickling my beard that I didnt want the moment to end. I thought about the hundreds of times I have had the good fortune to be with each one of my children like this and I melted like a sissy. What a calling guys! What a thing to be in life! Yes it would be awesome to change the world with a famous song or a grand invention. And yes it would feel great to be a famous whatever. But if we as men make no other mark on this world in this life; we can impress upon our families the power that is in the love of a father. We can recieve no higher calling than the commission we are given to protect and nurture these helpless little beings who have been entrusted to us. And from where I stand there is no other word that is as impressive in a eulogy as the word Father. So this morning I salute the men who spend their nights changing diapers and burping babies while mommy fixes dinner. And I tip my hat to the ones who spend their mornings doing that last math problem with their little girl before the school bus comes. You are the heroes of this world. You deserve at the very least to be mentioned on the roster of those who have changed the world. Because you are changing it--one tiny person at a time.
