Walker delighted with Bravehearts call-up Adam Walker will be given the opportunity to play on the international stage this autumn having been named in Scotland’s squad for the 2013 World Cup. The call-up is just reward for the 22-year-old who was outstanding in his debut season for the Robins and he’s looking forward to testing himself in the tournament. “It’s an honour to be called up and I’m really looking forward to it,” “We’ve got group games against Tonga, Italy and the USA and I think we’ve got a really good chance of doing well and progressing to the next stage. “Danny Brough will be our captain and having played alongside him at Huddersfield I know what a great player he is and I’m sure he’ll lead from the front. My brother, Jonathan, is also in the squad and it’ll be good to play alongside him if the opportunity presents itself. “We play Papua New Guinea in a friendly at Featherstone on October 19th and will be heading into camp up in Workington after that. From a personal point of view I can’t wait for the games to come around now. Tonga look really strong and we play them in our first group game. If we can get a good result there then that will get the ball rolling and set us up nicely.” The 2013 World Cup is also coming to east Hull with two games being hosted at the home of the Robins. On Sunday October 27th (KO 4pm), Papua New Guinea, who will be based in the city, take on France. That’ll then be followed by Papua New Guinea tackling Samoa on Monday November 4th (KO 8pm). To celebrate the fact that international rugby league is coming to Craven Park, a special offer has been put in place meaning that if you buy tickets for both games, you’ll get to see the second one for half price! They promise to be exciting clashes and it’ll give you the opportunity to watch some live action during the close season.
