Walking into school this morning, I had a student hit me up to use - TopicsExpress

Walking into school this morning, I had a student hit me up to use my phone. Now, I had watched said student, exit their car and walk across the street to the same set of doors that I was going to use. Watching their body language and the frantic checking of pockets as we walked closer together, I could see that the student was becoming more and more nervous. At the time that the student asked me to use my phone, they had been out of their car and at school for approx. 45 seconds. They were looking like they were almost in a state of panic, eyes, looking about, in a lost and dazed sort of madness. The reason they wanted to use my phone: They had left their phone in their parents car when they were dropped off at school. The student was having withdrawals and anxiety issues after being with out their phone for less than a minute. I have read about people with addictions looking for their next fix. I think i have now seen it in person. This is why my kids will not get their own cell phones until: 1. They can pay for it, or 2. A wedding present
