Walmart threatens to pull plug on 3 D.C. store - Walmart announced Tuesday that it would end projects to build three of its stores in the District of Columbia if the Council passes a new law that would require large retailers to pay its hourly workers more than minimum wage. In an oped piece published by The Washington Post, the retailer says it would halt projects at Skyland, Capitol Gateway and New York Avenue.
