Walter Mitty: When are you going to take it? Sean OConnell: Sometimes I dont. If I like a moment, for me, personally, I dont like to have the distraction of the camera. I just want to stay in it. Walter Mitty: Stay in it? Sean OConnell: Yeah. Right there. Right here. This is one of the colorful conversation between Walter & Sean within the movie The secret life of Walter Mitty. This was a useful phrase as i walk the path as a learning photographer. I believe i am not the only one who would freeze in time just to witness something majestic and doing nothing beside flicking my eyes. So to say, again, not everything is recorded within a camera, but within a memory in time. Memory, of something we saw and embraced, would somehow call us back to walk the same trail again and to reminisce our memory. It is something that we truly love and something that a photograph cant help to feel touch even the photo is awesomely beautiful. Something just so spectacular, is best to be witness first hand and to make that possible is to walk the trail yourself. A photograph is just a reference medium of where you should go. But to feel and embrace the whole thing, is to be there yourself...without any distraction. The pure essence of a photographer, is to project an emotion and realistic element within a photo, but before snapping, he/she just has to sit there, and feel, the portrayed imagination, upon reality...=)
