Want to have a say in how growth is managed in the Dublin Dublin Unified School District, here is your chance: The Dublin Unified School District is seeking four parents to serve on the District Optimization Committee (DOC). This standing committee will meet monthly in the evenings beginning in November. The purpose of the District Optimization Committee is to advise the Board of Trustees and the Superintendent on important topics facing the district related to continued and rapid growth in our community. Examples include: · Demographic trends in Dublin and the impact on our schools. · Options for managing increasing student populations at the middle school and high school levels. · Elementary school boundary next steps. · Communication efforts on these topics in the community. The committee will examine issues in both the short-term (less than 5 years) and long-term (more than five years). The District Optimization Committee will be comprised of two Trustees, the Superintendent, members of the Superintendent’s executive cabinet, representatives from the Facilities department as well as our employee associations, and four parents representing the geographic diversity of the school district. Applications and are due back to the district office (you may either print or email fillable form) by 4 p.m. on Oct. 24. Candidates will be interviewed by the Superintendent, and those selected should prepare for their first meeting during the first week of November.
