Want to wish everyone a Happy New Year and may 2015 be one of special memories and events. Each year brings us pleasant surprises, happiness, and challenges. We ended the year with concerns with a very special dog. We are looking to start off 2015 with some good news today. January 1, 2015 marks several special anniversaries for me. 40 years ago- January 1, 1975 saw a 24 year old fresh out of graduate school start a job with Stauffer Chemical Co. and manage a territory based out of Virginia. Donna and I planned our move to a location where we knew no one and had no family close by. It was the start of many new adventures for us. There have been many changes in the industry over those years and learned much about mergers, take overs, and relocations. Through the years I am still proud of the industry I am in. Think of how the progress has helped feed the world, create safe environments to travel in, reduce erosion, absorb carbon dioxide, and improve the environment. Glad to be still part of it. January 1, 2015 also marks 35 years that I have been a Race Walker. My New Years Resolution in 1980 was to stop being a runner and only Race Walk. One of my best decision ever. First race walked in 1978. For 2 years I still trained as a runner and occasionally race walked in a race. Little did I realize what it lead to. Being able to wear the USA Singlet on 4 continents and all the good friends and experiences are hard for me to imagine. The greatest is that I am still training and competing and the body parts are still in good shape. Happy New Year!
