Wanted to update everyone on Judys recovery. She was discharged from the hospital 1 1/2 weeks ago and is doing great. We will be staying in the St. Louis area for about 3 months. She has numerous appointments every week, mostly at the transplant clinic, lab and physical therapy. She will have routine bronchoscopies/biopsies to check for rejection. She will be admitted to the hospital next Tuesday for her 2nd bronch/biopsy - only overnight (hopefully). She still has a chest tube (JP for my medical friends) that continues to drain, so we are anxiously waiting for it to be pulled out. It causes her quite a bit of discomfort. She is taking her rejection medications faithfully twice daily. She is carefully managing her diabetes. She is doing insulin throughout the day now and counting carbs. She is also trying to keep up with school which has been a challenge because of headaches. Judy continues to receive cards and gifts and we are so appreciative of that. Please be patient as we work on thank you notes! We are blessed to have the visitors that we have had. We are blessed to be staying in a lovely home with an awesome couple who has awesome kids as well. I hope that everyone has a great holiday.
