Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Receives product from various suppliers. Marks each box with a received date to correspond with a matching invoice. Either places product on a pull or on the shelf. Issues product based on FIFO and maintains food expiration dates on all product. In addition, associate will maintain clean storage areas and proper HACCP paperwork. Conveys materials and items from receiving areas to storage or to other designated areas; sorts and places materials and items from receiving areas to storage, on racks, shelves, in bins, and other designated areas, according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, or product code. Weighs or counts items for distribution within warehouse to ensure conformance to company standards; uses computer to enter records; compiles worksheets or tickets according to company specification. Maintains inventory records; fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for new items and distributes items; marks products with identifying information; opens bales, crates, boxes and other containers; sorts and stores perishable goods in refrigerated rooms. Maintain clean and safe work environment; performs job safely. Places orders through supplier websites, maintains POs, and enters invoice and new ingredients into Food Trak database. Maintains handheld devices for inventory and assists in counting inventory. Serves as a backup for vacation for receiving department receiver and manager. Other duties including administrative work may be assigned. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one year related experience and/or training. Ability to speak effectively to suppliers, customers or employees of organization. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole, numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. Kitchen Math a must. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Other Qualifications: Must be forklift certified.
