**Warning: Political Rant** Once upon a time I was a center right or moderate republican and then for some reason the republican party went bat shit crazy and forced me into a weird place where now I waffle between Libertarian and Democrat. I voted against and vehemently opposed Obama in 2008 and then supported him in 2012. If I had it to do over I wouldnt change my 2012 vote. I will admit that there are some very depressing similarities between him and the dip shit we had prior to him, however thankfully there are differences that have at the very least stopped us from invading at least 2 countries had a Republican been in office. The sad truth is that we are a country that for the last few decades - well since Kennedy was shot - that has been on the decline. Weve allowed the birth and growth of a massive military corporate industrial conglomerate and an unhealthy marriage between pharmaceutical and insurance companies that influence politicians more then the very people that elected them. We sat by as regulators have allow a select few to control the media and financial markets (ironically the same people) and this is all defended under the guise of free-enterprise. There is nothing free about it. Its nothing more than an aristocratic oligarchy wrapped up in an American flag. They have us fighting over gun rights, what we can or cant smoke, who can or cant be married, or what we can or cant do with our own bodies, and while they have us fighting each other over what freedom means they craft legislation and pay off our elected officials to vote in their favor thereby given them more control and the rest of us more to fight about. NO, this country is not the greatest country in the world. NO, this is not what the founders intended. And DAMN IT NO, it is not all Obamas fault. It is OUR fault. Our fault because we re-elect people that dont do their jobs. How the hell does a Congress that had a 9% approval rating see 85% of its members get re-elected? Are people really that stupid? Do you even realize that the very people that are paying for the commercials that convince you to vote a certain way are actually the very people responsible for the mess we are in? In 7 months every member of the House of Representatives and a good portion of the Senate are up for re-election. Educate yourselves on what they have done for YOU - not what what they have done for their party or what some dip shit talking head on the radio or on the TV said. All votes are public and the legislation is available online. We can either crumble like all the other great empires of the past or we can WAKE THE F%^K UP and get our House back in order. -end of rant
