Warning: Pot stirring ahead. Ive got a question for my Tyler/East Texas area Aggie friends: The previous two A&M quarterbacks have strong East Texas ties. While neither graduated from an E.T. high school, both have parents who grew up there and their extended families are mostly still in the area. The first one, Ryan Tannehill, is an all-American kid who comes from a salt-of-the-earth family. (And Im not just saying that because I know some of them.) By all accounts, hes the type of guy you want your son to grow up to be like and your daughter to grow up to marry. The second, Johnny Manziel, well, lets just say he and his family are the opposite of everything Ive said about Tannehill. One certainly represents the Aggie Spirit that holds up honor and dignity as high values, and the other doesnt. So heres my question-- Why wasnt there as much outpouring of East Texas frenzy for the Miami Dolphins during Tannehills rookie season as there is for the Browns this season? Oh, I definitely saw people support Tannehill and get excited for his success, but there wasnt a large group of people who began to self-identify as a Dolphins fan as they are now doing as a Browns fan. Can someone explain?
