Warning Tesco Seasonal Scam. Please be warned of this SCAM which is currently being perpetrated by Tesco. Its called Incompetence How it works. (its a multi-part scam and very (un)-clever You place an order online, the bigger the better. You pick a delivery time and date and then wait in for said order to arrive. When the order doesn’t turn up you then phone their customer helpline number to find out where it is.... Now this is the clever bit, they say there has been an issue with your order and that you need to arrange alternative source of payment which you do and because you have missed your slot they arrange delivery for the next day. Annoyed you haven’t been contacted you then resolve yourself that a quick dash to the shops first thing will tide you over until your delayed delivery turns up. THEN (usually within 10 minutes) you receive a call from your local store (Tesco Winchester) who then say they can deliver your full in the next half hour as they have an opening. Sure enough in a short space of time a rather confused but pleasant delivery driver turns up with your (alleged) order. You then start to take delivery of said order only to find out only 20-30% of it is correct! Obviously the incorrect 70-80% portion of the order is returned for a credit to your account (OR SO YOU THINK)......1st part of the SCAM! The second part (and this is the REALLY clever bit) they then turn up the next day with the exactly the same order with 80% incorrect. You send it away as you don’t need it and you can’t handle the monumental disappointment within the space of 24hours. Obviously the FULL incorrect 2nd order is returned for a credit to your account (OR SO YOU THINK). 2 days later you then find your credit card being declined because Tesco (obviously without your knowledge) have taken out 2 FULL PAYMENTS for both the incorrect order of which you enjoyed 20% and the duplicate order which you returned. Annoyed you then try to use the customer service and complaints procedure, which again is insanely intelligent in its implementation as it keeps lulling you into believing something is being resolved.(PART 3 of the SCAM) Finally as you try to quell your anger by enjoying some of the fresh produce you have now paid more for per weight than pure platinum you console yourself with the fact that it is all within its best before date so should therefore temper your anger for a few more days....WRONG its all gone off (PART 4 of the SCAM)
