A storm system over southern Montana is forecast to track over southern Saskatchewan Sunday. This system will spread an area of rain along the Saskatchewan-Alberta border overnight into Sunday morning. As colder air works into the system Sunday, rain will change to snow with snow becoming heavy at times, especially for regions along the Alberta border. Much of the snow will melting at first however snow will likely start accumulating through the afternoon into the evening hours with 5 to 10 cm possible across much of the warning area. Snow will taper off Sunday night as the system moves northeast. Motorists are advised to be prepared for winter like driving conditions on area highways Sunday including the Yellowhead highway between Saskatoon and the Alberta border. Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Environment Canada meteorologists will update alerts as required.
