Warren Krech enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1971 and was sent to Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo., for his basic training. He was later assigned as an entertainment specialist at Kagnew Station in Asmara, Ethiopia (now Eritrea), where he managed the base swimming pool, learned to spin 45s for a radio program, and hosted a Saturday morning childrens television show. Krech has since worked for several broadcast outlets and now hosts the Morning News Watch on KWOS 950 AM.
