Warringah/Pittwater Strike Team 103D has returned from the - TopicsExpress

Warringah/Pittwater Strike Team 103D has returned from the Warrimoo fire in the Blue Mountains after being stood down this afternoon. The Strike Team from the district comprised 5xCat1, 1xCat6 and 1xCat13 along with the group vehicle. Tumble had crew out yesterday and last night, and today deployed 5 crew to Ingleside 1B and the strike team leader. Departing base 06:00 and arriving around 07:30, tasking was delayed due to rain shortly after arrival. At 3.5mm across the fireground it was not enough to assist, but enough to prevent heavy tankers accessing the trails until they had dried out in the late morning. With the forecast for tomorrow of a wind change, along with higher temperatures and lower humidity the western containment edge will be put under pressure. Working along this edge the strike deal dealt with the numerous smokers that came up with the increasingly gusty winds today. Thanks to the Tumble crew who deployed across the various shifts at this fire.
