Then there is intellectual idolatry, patriotic idolatry, which is the love of a nation more than the love of humanity and also RATIONAL IDOLATRY. Rationalism is a hideous monster claiming for itself omnipotence; no we don’t want to suppress reason, but reason needs to be sanctified by revelation. SELF IDOLATRY - This is one of the foremost forms of idolatry at this present time. Worship of ones self. Vanity - has brought more virtues to an untimely end than any other vice. And yet these are lame in comparison to the one form of idolatry that exists in the earth and in the USA, presently plunging countless numbers of people into the darkness of the soul.
