Was at the local Walgreens and theres this slightly older lady that works the evening shift. Every time I walk in – shes listening to someone. A coworker, customer, or passer-by talking about their mothers cancer, inmate nephew, estranged sister, crack head daughter and the grandson they never see. Ive seen this play out in several other stores over the years. The woman listens, she listens without casting judgement, with open ears, without taking sides, without giving bad advice, and without instigation. Ive come to the conclusion that being a “good listener” is a God given gift. Essentially these folks are sort of helping people through their healing process. God bless them. All of them.
