Was driving to work the other day and caught myself singing along - TopicsExpress

Was driving to work the other day and caught myself singing along to a chris brown song these hoes aint loyal and stopped for second to reflect. For the first time in my life I was uncomfortable with the lyric in the song and the fact that i was so nonchalantly singing along. I dont think its right that on such a large scale media they can even allow the destruction and degradation of an entire body of people. We live in a world that is so entangled in itself we dont stop and realize sometimes the deeper meanings of our actions and words. I see first hand how self loathing and disrespect to your own community can completely demolish the moral fiber and simultaneously deteriorate the goodwill and hope of a community of people who work so hard to break down already existent and apparent obstacles as well as other not so apparent barriers that stand in front if them. Now i stop and realize that for too long, there has been a steady downward spiral in our American culture in regards to what we allow as acceptable and whas slowly chipped away at the threshold of what is the norm and what is socially deviant. I do not wish to further contribute to the annihilation of our next generations moral standard. I feel compelled to say that this isnt right and hope the next time I hear something that doesnt contribute to the uplifting of our communitys welfare and future I will not be a part of it.
