Was sad to learn of the passing of my first fiddle teacher this week. Besides being a musical icon, he was a sweet man and wonderful teacher. He inspired me with my music in every possible way, from listening to my own music I wrote (that was awful) and always with the most gentle smile, patience and encouragement. I still have his hand written copy of the Orange Blossom Special he watered down for me to play.
