Was told today I was no harder to hear than I am most Sundays, and I need to start speaking up. And dont tell me I need a hearing aid, because I got checked three years ago, and my hearing, fella, is just fine, so dont even bring it up. Oh, I had no intention to, I replied. The person went on to tell me I need to really give it to them one of these sermons. Which them needs me to that? I asked quizzically. Most of them, the person replied grimly. Got home to read an email telling me that Im quite wrong to say that Jesus came so that we might face, not fear a Final Judgment. We SHOULD fear it, Im told. Nothing said about the value of *facing* judgment, which was my point. Feedback has its limitations. As does my Calvinism.
