Washington, DC-A senior official in the Obama administration has stated that President Obama will announce shortly the end of the NSA’s telephone metadata program as it exists currently. According to the official, the President “will order a transition that will end the Section 215 telephone metadata program as it currently exists, and move to a program that preserves the needed capabilities without the government holding this data.” Obama will be at the Justice Department to announce reforms to the nation’s signals-intelligence program.
