Washington DC used provide a place to serve, a place to make America a better place, 20 years ago. Washington DC has become a place to get rich. To buy power and influence on behalf of the "haves" based on nothing more than your former positIon as a congressmen or senator. If you know how Washington DC works, you can be paid enormous amounts of money that will eclipse any other endeavor. Companies will bet fortunes on you instead of the truth. The gold rush of influence peddling is at an all time high. Every man or woman who retires from congress to lobby for any business concern will be paid beyond their greatest expectations. You can be paid millions if you know a little, saving your clients billions simply because you held an office in DC. The new world of the "sell out" has replaced the old world of government service. Examples are everywhere if you take the time to read between the goofy commercials by companies like BP Petroleum or big Pharma toting yet another ED pill, or just about any of the top 10 banks that continue to get off scott-free of prosecution. From Clinton to Bush to Obama, the games continue to grow every day with the media itself being purchased for the sole purpose of influence. Who will have the courage to stand up to this sick system? Who will finally expose this house of cards? We must or we will fall hard. Talking will only tempt more sell outs. We must speak with real outrage as a majority of people, NOT a political party, not a conservative or a liberal but an American who puts service above self.
