Watch Dogs Gets a New GAME Exclusive Premium Vigilante Edition: In addition to the selection of special editions revealed for Watch Dogs last year, Ubisoft has added yet another one to the table, in the form of the GAME exclusive Premium Vigilante Edition. This one is essentially the same Vigilante Edition revealed back in April 2013, but with a Watch Dogs hoodie and 4GB USB stick thrown in for good measure. So on top of the standard Vigilante Edition, you get a premium hoodie and USB stick for an additional £35. The standard Vigilante Edition costs £74.99 and is also GAME exclusive (GameStop exclusive in Ireland). XBLA Could Make a Return, Says Microsofts Phil Spencer: Phil Spencer says that Xbox Live Arcade may make a return. Speaking on Twitter, the Corporate Vice President of Microsoft Studios said that XBLA could come back, if the platform holder’s ID@Xbox program doesn’t work out as intended. Responding to a fan enquiry about the Marketplace on Xbox One, and the dissolved boundaries between retail and digital-only games, Spencer said: “I feel like when ID@XBOX gets rolling it will fill the gap that XBLA filled on 360. If it doesnt Im up for return of XBLA.” Responding to the suggestion that Microsoft should add orange, XBLA-style banners to ID@Xbox titles, Spencer added, “I like all games equal but I also think people will want to know whats ID, having a place in store or a ID tag could make sense.” Wolfenstein: The New Order UK Release Brought Forward Into Worldwide Release: Wolfenstein: The New Order has been bought forward to May 20th. It means that MachineGames’ Nazi-blasting shooter will now have a simultaneous worldwide release date on PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, across Europe, North America and Australasia. Pre-orders for the game will be rewarded with a beta key for Doom 4. Additional Titanfall Game Modes to be Released for Free: Respawn Entertainment has confirmed that new Titanfall game modes will be released for free. Speaking on Twitter, Respawn co-founder Vince Zampella said that the new modes will launch separately from the premium DLC. Responding to a fan, Zampella said, “Modes we release will be free to all, not part of DLC.” Earlier this month, Zampella said that, We plan to do DLC to support the game. We’re going to do paid DLC. Were also going to do free updates. Were going to add in - theres things that we want in the game that we didnt get to ship in the final game, so well add private matches and things like that for free. Were going to do a season pass just because if you buy it up front, you get a deal. Were not doing micro-transactions. So, you know, a season pass is just, buy it up front and get a better price.” Titanfall’s season pass will allow access to three DLC packs and will cost $24.99/ £19.99. Bought individually, standalone DLC packs will cost $10. Oddworld Creator giving a middle finger to EA, Talks Abe’s Oddysee Remake: The upcoming Oddworld: New ’n’ Tasty is distinct from the HD versions of Munch’s Oddysee and Stranger’s Wrath currently available via the PlayStation Network, Oddworld creator Lorne Lanning has stressed. “We still see press calling it an HD remake, and it’s not a f--king HD remake,” the Oddworld Inhabitants co-founder told VG247. Oddworld: New ’n’ Tasty is not a remastered version of the 1997 classic Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee; rather, it’s an entirely new version of the game with everything rebuilt from the ground up. Lanning also described why New ’n’ Tasty will be published by Oddworld Inhabitants itself and not a larger publisher, like previous partner EA. “F--k that business. I don’t want to play with that business, because it was a losing business,” said Lanning. “I just don’t want to go back and play the old [publisher] game. I’d rather not make games than go f--king be a slave for public companies who care more about their shareholders than they do about their customers. “You know that team knew that game wasn’t ready to go. “Why did Battlefield 4 ship? You know that team was crying. You know that team knew that game wasn’t ready to go. You know that team f--king spent a lot of sleepless nights building that s--t out to look as good and play as good, when it was able to be experienced, being played as they were intending it to be played. Someone made a decision that the shareholders are more important than the customer. And we see a lot of that. How do you blow that? How do you take that f--king jewel and ship it with dirt all over it?” Last week Lanning said if New ’n’ Tasty shipped around 250,000 copies the Oddworld team would be able to fund a total remake of Oddworld: Abes Exoddus, although double that number would be required to bankroll an entirely new Oddworld game.
