Watch and Act Issued For: Cherrypool, Glenisla Crossing, Heathvale, Laharum, Wartook, Brimpaen Fire Origin: 18KM SOUTH WEST OF DADSWELLS BRIDGE Incident Name: GRAMPIANS - NORTHERN GRAMPIANS Issued: 18/01/14 12:50 AM This is a DOWNGRADED Watch and Act message issued by Department of Environment and Primary Industries for Cherrypool, Glenisla Crossing, Heathvale, Laharum, Wartook, Brimpaen. Fire activity in the Brimpaen area has subsided but conditions could change due to the unpredictable winds and weather situation being experienced in the northern part of the Grampians. The fire is not yet under control. There are still pockets of active fire being experienced in the Roses Gap area. Residents are urged to stay alert and listen to warnings as extreme fire behaviour is predicted in the area. The fire is approximately 41,000ha in size and currently impacting the north eastern side of the Grampians National Park. Staying close to shelter is the safest option, in case conditions change again suddenly. Continue to stay informed and monitor conditions. The next update is expected by 18/01/14 3:00 AM or as the situation changes. Safety information: Remember to take your prescriptions and medication, photo ID, bottles of water, your mobile phone and charger and consider what you will do with your pets. When driving, slow down and turn on your headlights; smoke will make it difficult to see. If you have time, check your neighbours to see if they are monitoring conditions.
