Watched Sayonora on TCM yesterday, and I must ask why, in every single film about bigotry, the worst characters always have Southern accents. Marlon Brandos accent was atrocious! Ive never quite understood the big whoo-ha about Brando anyway. Not a fan. At least characters played by folks like James Garner have genuine cause for their speech patterns (hes from Oklahoma, which sounds a little Southern). Anyway, its a good movie that makes good points. You just have to remember the time period and work your way through some bad Brando. Ha!
