UP General Chairman Dick Crow elected by acclamation Dick Crow was elected by acclamation to his first full term as General Chairman of the Union Pacific-Northern District General Committee of Adjustment during quadrennial meetings in Las Vegas, Nevada, September 24-25, 2014. Brother Crow is a Union Pacific locomotive engineer and member of BLET Division 404 (Chicago, Ill.). He was elected to the office of 2nd Vice Chairman at the GCA’s quadrennial convention in 2010, and became General Chairman in December of 2012 following the retirements of long-serving General Chairman Bruce MacArthur and his 1st Vice Chairman and successor, Mike Elsberry. Brothers MacArthur and Elsberry had each held office for seven terms. Also elected by acclamation were: 1st Vice Chairman Joe Cummins, Division 683 (Chicago); 2nd Vice Chairman Kevin Christians, Division 6 (Boone, Iowa); and 3rd Vice Chairman David G. Johnstone, Division 333 (St. Paul, Minn.). Brother Chris Wagner, Division 405 (Milwaukee, Wisc.), was elected to serve as Secretary-Treasurer, and Brother Mike Abell, Division 96 (Chicago, Ill.), was elected Alternate Secretary-Treasurer. BLET National President Dennis R. Pierce addressed the delegates. “I congratulate Brother Crow and all officers of the Union Pacific-Northern District GCA and thank them for their dedication to our Brotherhood,” President Pierce said. “I have every confidence that they will continue doing an excellent job of representing their hard working members.” Additional guest speakers representing the BLET National Division included First Vice President E. Lee Pruitt, National Secretary-Treasurer William C. Walpert, and National Vice President Michael D. Twombly. Other distinguished guests from the BLET included General Chairman Ronnie Rhodes, UP-Central Region; General Chairman Warren Dent, UP-Southern Region; UP-General Chairman Dave Geisler, UP-Eastern District; General Chairman Bill Hannah, UP-Western Lines; and General Chairman Jim Dayton, UP-Western Region. The Union Pacific Northern District General Committee of Adjustment represents approximately 1,000 locomotive engineers and trainmen, who work for the Union Pacific Railroad and Metra commuter lines.
