Watched the movie Jobs with Ashton Kutcher last night. I went in - TopicsExpress

Watched the movie Jobs with Ashton Kutcher last night. I went in with low expectations and I am glad that I did. I wasnt really impressed by his representation of Steve Jobs. When you are typecast as the Dude, Wheres my Car guy, doing a serious role like this is beyond him. It was a vey long movie and didnt seem to touch on Steve the person. We all know that Steve was rough but they kinda painted him to be a complete asshole for most of the movie. Pros: 1. There were a few moments in the film that inspired me to do great things. However, there were too few of those for a movie about a person that truly changed the world. Cons: 1. Ashton Kutchers portrayal of Steve Jobs was not good at all. Watching many Keynote presentations, reading many books and seeing historical video of Steve myself leads me to believe that Kutcher only touched on a small amount of the material that is available out there to prepare for the role. And did a very poor job at it, in my opinion. 2. The movie was WAY to long at 128 minutes. They probably could have cut out about 20 minutes or so and it would have been just fine. I still think that Pirates of Silicon Valley Was the best movie/representation about Apple, Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak and the beginning of the personal computer revolution. Looking forward to seeing the Walter Isaacson representation based on the approved autobiography.
