Watching CNN analyzing Nigerian government and boko-haram by Anderson cooper. I laughed at the show of hypocrite, pretense and disguise. Well, I wish Nigerians can appreciate the necessity that are usually dictated by the tragic consequences of many despicable treacheries by the imperialist America and her other Western allies to the people of Sub-Sahara Africa especially Africa most populace country Nigeria. Anyway, I do not question the integrity of those folks who feel the West should not be blamed for many of the obstacles militating against Blacks social progress and social developments, especially in Nigeria. But I doubt the accuracy of their postulations because those postulations are hinged on the fallacy of description of appeal to probability judgement based on conditional probabilities without taking into account the effect of prior probabilities and a description of appeal to illicitly substituting of identical designators in a true statement all together. Yes, it is true that our relationship with the West has relatively transformed our once poor, squalid, and backward societies into a beacon of modernity, but, yet, the question is why, within the short period after our so-called independence from the colonial masters, the window dressing of independence had slipped to reveal total anarchy, a total corrupt political elites, military coups, the assassinations of many Pan-Africanists like Mulumba, Nkrummah, Gaddafi etc., and the destructions of the very democratic structures these ex-colonial masters set-up in Africa. Cicero says and i quote; the deeply concealed acts of treachery are often disguised with the pretence of duty or necessity. Damn, it is absolutely infuriating to find educated Nigerians flawed opinions passed off as objective evidences of the Western world fair play to us. But, if the relative honesty of the West and Africa peoples is to be put in the scales, the question is that, is the integrity of the people who conquered by force of arms outside the rule of law, or designed a systematic global financial oligarchy and political hegemony that have perpetually put us in total disadvantage to be valued higher than the innocent victims of the conquest? To me, the answer is a capital NO. Yea, I say the West are crooks, but not necessarily stupid. They do not do business in the open per say, but in private in order that we will not direct our angers towards them. Where were the west in our struggle in this Boko Haram menace? What have they done to assist us? Was it not the west that postulated that Nigeria may likely split into shrubs by 2015? Lets also know that no attempt has ever been made or will ever be made by the West to force upon us all of the undoubtful advantages of civilization. Evidently, the West simply regard Africa and her people as some kind of private zoo or reservation. Damn, damn, damn!!, they even regard us as prisoners of the West, we are even made to pay for our own handcuffs even if those handcuffs look like a silken cord. You see, a handful of aid here and there cost nothing to these white-supremaci st folks. Our situation, strategy, plan, and continually dependence on them have been executed perfectly. It is a well-oiled self-propelled machine. Asians refused to be enslaved by the westere super-powers, they decide to embrace their forefathers legacy and today, they are the fastest developing continent among other continents. Eventhough, most Asian countries are regarded as a third world countries, they still stood film and confident. Our situation in Africa and mostly Nigeria is a pure theatre, and at the end of the day, the performers applaud the audience. Hmmmmmm, too bad for us. But, we can get out of the wood if we go back to the basics with a mental honesty and a disciplined mind which our forefathers left us with. By Prof Olabode Olanipekun Good morning folks!!
