Watching a 1940 movie called East of the River with Jon Garfield. He was a good actor but his career was destroyed by the HUAC commie witch hunts. You know two Presidents were very active in the commie hunts. Nixon made his name as a prosecuting attorney and Reagan, president of the Screen Actors Guild then and virulently anti commie, destroyed many lives. Reagan claimed that pleading the 5th was the same as an admission of guilt. His view was completely opposite during Iran-Contra. Hypocrite! No problem when he was defaming innocent citizens. Problem when he himself was being accused of a much more serious crime. Imagine that. Lol
