Watching other parents’ reactions to their individual children - TopicsExpress

Watching other parents’ reactions to their individual children on the playground is entertainment in itself. The trailer type white dude, speaking in ebonics to his kid, yelling and looking mean at every stranger … whether or not he does this at home, it makes me wonder who the “Though guy” act is for There are nothing but kids, moms and, dads out here. Maybe it’s his fatherly instinct to be territorial. Maybe he knows no other way to act. The older children who don’t really want to be here but, were left here by their parents to watch the younger kids. They take full advantage of this situation by calling friends out who are old enough to have cars, not paying any attention to their siblings running around making friends on the playground equipment. The group of people with money and their closely tethered youngsters and high priced dogs on leashes, standing in a huddle to keep any eye contact with others outside their circle to a minimum. Me, writing in my notebook about everything I see and hear, laughing at the kids playing with no idea that life will never again be so simple. All of them, my son included; climbing, jumping, running, sliding and laughing whilst having fun with children of every race creed and color. King’s dream lives amongst the laughter of the innocent.
