Watchman Friends of the true and living God, picking up where we left off yesterday remember we at Exodus 16:2 And the whole congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness: 16:3 And the children of Israel said unto them, Would to God we had died by the hand of the LORD in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the flesh pots, [and] when we did eat bread to the full; for ye have brought us forth into this wilderness, to kill this whole assembly with hunger. Here the Lord God took the children of Israel from out of the bondage that they were subdue to in the land of Egypt, but was this what Israel wanted? No! Ever since they left Egypt they have been complaining and murmuring because they were so adopted to the flesh-pot of Egypt that no matter what God did for them in the wilderness they were not satisfied. Day after day Israel continued to murmur, reformation was not in the hearts of Gods people and I wonder if we see any similarity between ancient and modern Israel? Whenever the word comes to us and speak to our hearts instead of allowing Gods word to change our hearts we find faults with the word and the messenger that carried the message. We continue wanting to live our life, giving God what we see fit. This what Cain did in the book of Genesis 4:4 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering: 4:5 But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell. 4:6 And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen? 4:7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee [shall be] his desire, and thou shalt rule over him. Abel offered what was required of him to be offered, but Cain did not see it fit to offer what required of his hand. Why did Cain do this? (1) His strength and labour was his and not Gods. (2) He wasnt the one that had sinned so why was he to give God the best of his provisions. How does most of us today caught in that trap? I Have my bills to pay so therefore I am not able to pay my tithe and offering. So this time around Ill give something toward the offering, and we justify our actions by saying God understands. But what did Jesus say to His disciple in the book of Luke 20:25 And he said unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which be Caesars, and unto God the things which be Gods. Friends there is no fooling God, we fool ourselves and fall as preys to the wiles of the enemy. Whatsoever God require of us thats what He needs, we do these things and dont see any consequence of these doings so we feel all is well. But remember that we were admonish in the book of 1 Corinthians 10:31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.
