Water Immersion July 31, 2014, Waxing Crescent Moon in Virgo. A few weeks ago I had an epiphany about my relationship with Lake Monona, which I live just a few blocks away from and that the creek behind me dumps into. The epiphany was that I was listening to the story of its degradation, toxicity and yuckiness, rather than its clarity, healing and magic. To change my relationship with, and make the story change for me, I decided to immerse myself in her 2-3 days a week, preferably for the sunset and before in sacred space. Tonight I had the Frostwoods beach front and lake there at Squaw Bay to myself. As the sun was moving down I saw the tiny crescent moon waxing, ducks swimming all around me, skimming the water for their evening feeding, birds doing the same, seagulls doing their pre-sunset flight, geese flying above, a turtle sticking her head up and then swimming away under the water, big fish jumping out of the water, minnows doing the same, dragonflies skimming the water and the most awesome cloud formations and patterns. I stood there with most of my body submerged, in silence, thanking this lake for all she gives me, having such flashbacks of memory of lake experiences from the freshwater smell of the lake, and feeling immense, immense gratitude for being able to just be. The beauty is awesome. The connection real.
