Water and sewer projects dont tend to be glamorous – but theyre absolutely vital. Im pleased to announce funding for two local projects was approved today by the Commonwealth Financing Authority. In Kennett Township, Chester County, a $60,000 grant will help fund the replacement of approximately 900 feet of waterline along South Street which is extremely susceptible to leaks. A fire hydrant will be installed and a section of two-inch galvanized main will be replaced with eight-inch ductile iron cement-lined pipe. The total project cost is $149,604. In Aston Township, Delaware County, a $60,000 grant will be used to help fund the installation of a flow meter and monitoring system at the Southwest Delaware County Municipal Authoritys Team Road pump station. Currently, no flow meter system exists at the station. The total project cost is $150,000.
