Waterford buys Tim McGraws autographed guitar donated by KAT Country 103 Manteca California will play host to the largest Memorial Day celebration of its kind perhaps in the United States of America. This annual event Not Forgotten is designed to honor all who have served our country in the military, to remember our fallen heroes and their families, to raise awareness in our community and remind our citizens that freedom is not free. On May 9th, The Place of Refuge Church hosted an Evening of Honor dinner/fundraiser to raise money to help cover the $70,000 plus budget to put on this important celebration. Many local businesses offered live auction items that sold for a significant amount of money as all the proceeds will go to this event. KAT Country 103 in collaboration with one of countrys top music stars donated a Copley guitar autographed by Country Superstar, Tim McGraw and 2 concert tickets to the Tim McGraw concert at the Shoreline Amphitheater. The bidding was fierce for this precious commodity as local business owner Mr. Phil Waterford, President/Owner of local Manteca Ford who is also a major supporter of this annual event won the bid. What Mr. Waterford did next brought many to tears. After receiving this beautiful autographed masterpiece of a guitar and 2 tickets to the concert, Waterford immediately walked across the auditorium and gifted the guitar as well as the 2 tickets to a member of the armed forces who had attempted several bids on this auction item. Im a very competitive guy and when I looked across the room and saw one of our U.S. Military men who fights for the freedoms that we enjoy everyday interested in this item, I just had to have it. The best part for me was looking this man in his eyes, shaking his hand, and thanking him for his sacrifice and service to this great nation. -Stated Waterford. You can experience Memorial Day in a meaningful way at Woodward Park in Manteca on May 25th. You will laugh, cry, and be filled with pride of nation during your experience at the park. Bring the entire family, welcome vets young and old, embrace families who have given the ultimate sacrifice, and pay solemn tribute to those who have fallen.
