Wayne Rooney has agreed the fundamental details of his new £300,000-a-week contract at Manchester United but the deal has been held up by haggling over image rights. Rooney cannot actually sign the deal until a couple of issues over image rights are worked upon. If that doesn’t happen, though, it may have to wait until after United return from Champions League duty in Greece next week. Barcelona have been charged by a Spanish court with committing tax fraud in the signing of Brazil forward Neymar last year, a court spokesman confirmed today. Barca denied wrongdoing after local media reported yesterday that the Spains public prosecutor had asked for fraud charges to be laid against the club. Bayern Munich winger, Arjen Robben has launched a swift defence against allegations that he spat on Bacary Sagna during last nights 2-0 win over Arsenal at the Emirates, insisting that the video footage merely shows sweat dripping from his head. Mathieu Flamini tore into Mesut Ozil in the middle of Arsenals Champions League defeat by Bayern Munich yesterday night, apparently accusing the German of a lack of effort. The flashpoint came in the second half after a Bayern move broke down and the ball was collected from behind the goal by Lukas Fabianski. Cesc Fabregas is most likely to return to Arsenal should he decide to leave Barcelona, according to the latest reports. The former-Gunners captain has been linked with a return to the Emirates Stadium in the past, and reports have even suggested Arsenal retain a first right of refusal as part of the deal that brought him to Barcelona. A deal for Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic to join Inter Milan is almost complete, with Inter chief Erick Thohir claiming the deal is 90% finalised. The Man United captain is out of contract at Old Trafford in the summer, and it seems this will almost certainly be his last season at the club.
