We Have To Make A Difference By Dr. Sinclair Grey III Too many senseless killings should cause us to speak up and speak out. It doesnt matter who the victim is, killing is wrong. Whenever people are silent about killings, nothing gets done. Believe me, it takes more than prayer to fix this problem. It takes people caring about human life. It takes people willing to get involved politically and socially. And it takes people who arent afraid to promote peace and justice. Oh, for those in church leadership check this out - a church leader who is unwilling to address the social ills of society from behind the pulpit has become too comfortable with their salary. They are mute about the people who are affected by injustice and inequality. The Bible tells us on the night Jesus was arrested, that one of his disciples flipped out and committed an act of violence. Rather than condone it, Jesus said, Put your sword back in its place. All who take the sword will die by the sword. Please dont miss this. We must promote peace at all times. We must work with agencies to establish programs that will keep people off the streets and into doing something positive and productive. There is so much to do. The question is - what role are you going to play other than pray about it?
