We Want Answers Hi to all my friends. This is a copy of the four letters I sent by Recorded Delivery today. Feel free to share. Right Honourable Keith Vaz Dear Sir, I am taking this unusual step in writing to you as I fear you, as Chairman of the Select Committee, were misled either knowingly or by indifference on the part of Lord Tony Hall Director General of the British Broadcasting Corporation (hereafter referred to as the BBC) when he appeared before you on Tuesday 2 September 2014. Lord Hall was summoned before the Select Committee in the wake of the public outrage concerning the format of the media coverage by the BBC relating to the police raid on the home of Sir Cliff Richard on Thursday 14 August 2014. Lord Hall at this time was accompanied by Mr Jonathan Munro, head of news gathering at the BBC and Mr James Harding news coverage and current affairs. Lord Hall stated to the committee (I presume under oath) there wasn’t that many complaints, about two hundred or so. Three days later Jonathan Munro appeared on the News Watch programme hosted by Samira Ahmed and at that time it was stated the BBC had received eight hundred complaints over the BBC handling of the media coverage of the raid by police on the home of Sir Cliff Richard. I am one of a number of people worldwide who were unhappy as to the actions of the BBC and I as an individual, through my Facebook, had received by Friday 5 September 2014 the names of one thousand one hundred and five people for my petition against the BBC. These came from individuals throughout the world who are of a like mind on this matter. My Facebook content is open for your perusal if you so desire. I now ask from you please the following questions: - When Lord Hall appeared before the House of Commons Select Committee was he under oath? - Did Lord Hall supply proof to the select committee of complaints and how they were made, or was his word simply taken on the figure of two hundred? - Can it be explained how two hundred complaints on Tuesday 2 September 2014 as stated before the select Committee became eight hundred on Friday 5 September 2014 on the News Watch programme? - It is my understanding that between Thursday 14 August and Saturday 16 August the BBC complaints facility left people in the position that they were unable to log their complaints, have you any knowledge of this? I thank you for your assistance in this matter and will await your reply. Yours Faithfully, Mrs Elsie Dougan Copy Letters to: Mark Reckless MP Angie Bray MP Nigel Farage MP
