We all create narratives of how we think the world works. Sometimes that limits us when we only interpret information according to that narrative. We interpret experiences according to what we already think we know to be true. When we enter situations assuming we already know what’s going on and what’s going to happen, then we’ll never grow from new experiences. I’m guilty of this too and have to constantly remind myself to be flexible, open, and receptive to new ways of seeing things. That’s tough for a crotchety, opinionated, leo!
