We all find out the meaning of life by misunderstanding: People - TopicsExpress

We all find out the meaning of life by misunderstanding: People usually try to find out some meanings or explanations for their own existence to eliminate their own fear or unease towards life. Such meanings are created by the brain; just like the deities or gods in different religions: they all belong to the system of faiths. Take the Chan school as an example, what Chan teaches is not the meaning of life, but just to live in the moment; just breathe and live without worrying about where to go or what to do. The only thing the practitioners of Chan have to do is to transcend the limitation of the brain and the disturbance of illusions. They dont discuss about the meaning of life that doesnt exist. The meaning of the individual existence, the individual contribution to the society, the self-confirmation, or the confirmation from the society....all are not what the practitioners of Chan seek or need. What the practitioners or Chan seek is to live fully in every moment, with rich and peaceful energy, and freedom at ease without bitterness nor happiness. Thats what they want. The meaning of life is the illusion and tranquilizer for ordinary people. Humankind is the only creature that needs the meaning of life. Since long ago, the Chan school emphasizes teaching mind to mind without bothering about definitions. The true Chan, true Buddha dharma is to be enlightened through every single breath and every moment of living. It transcends the brain and western material logic. Enlightenment cannot be explained by speech or words. Therefore, it is unnecessary to explain the meaning of life painstakingly with the brain. The true Buddha dharma will make you very peaceful and free at ease without any criticism. Some people may make faults or immerse themselves in some kind of false illusions. We dont have to criticize because it is just a process. If someone keeps immersing himself in the false illusion until getting old, that maybe his personal cause and condition or his personal choice. Even Buddha cannot force or change a person, or get enlightened for someone. The only thing He can do is to preach dharma. The button of awakening is in your hand. In my personal opinion, the dharma gate of reciting Buddhas name ( Pure Land school) is the most admirable, unrestrained and easiest.
