We all want to enjoy our lives, live them in peace and prosperity, and not have to be looking over our shoulder the whole time, or fighting to keep the wolf away from the door. We want our entertainments, we want our enjoyments, we deserve our leisure and we all hope that our hard work in whatever area of our lives actually will pay off. That being said...If we live in a bubble we will often fail to see the big picture, not only how it affects us now but where it is leading us to in the future. Having incited fear, hatred and loathing in the Australian people (often bringing up repressed racism and an old school punishing mentality) we are now under total surveillance and in the process of losing whatever freedoms and entitlements we have thus far managed to retain, by the skin of our teeth. Forget about the bogey man. Who he actually is this time is kind of irrelevant, because they will always have one up their sleeves if they know they can manipulate us by pulling any skeleton out of the closet and rattling its bones regularly in the controlled media. Thats the modus operandi and it isnt likey to change any time soon...because it works! The antidote for fear is love. Can you bring yourself to love people? To be tolerant and compassionate? To be empathetic and able to put yoursef in the shoes of another person or another country? Or would you rather be someone who silently consents to whatever a fascist and repressive government wants to inflict on the whole population? Is holding onto your hate that important to you, or are you just in denial about your own proclivities? Those of us who side with love do not wish for wars, surveillance states or police states. We do not wish for the increasing militarization of our police force. We do not wish for people to be detained without charge and without trial, indefinitely. We do not believe in persecuting and imprisoning people who are looking for reguge from war torn countries, violent rebels and repressive regimes. We believe in sharing, reaching out, being expansive and creative. And in the end, we will win.
