We always give little attention to the power of words. How they - TopicsExpress

We always give little attention to the power of words. How they can hurt or help, how they translate inner feelings, how they symbolize the truth if they come straight from the heart, how they relieve and how they comfort or how they stress and confuse. Words are powerful, whatever the impact they have on you, they have the power to destroy a person as much as they have the power to lift him up. I love writing because for the most part, I get all the words out, in whatever order they may come and for whatever purpose they can serve. Most people underestimate the power of words on them and on others, which is somehow surprising to me. We actually think most of the time about conversations we had, conversations we are still having and conversations we wish to have with people we love or people we care about enough to open up to. The only common factor in these conversations is the words we have said, the words we’re still saying and the words we wish they could come out of our mouths. They always tell us to think before we speak but rarely do we ever stick to this advice. We usually just speak and it makes it harder to apologize for the words we didn’t mean or the words we didn’t want to say and sometimes we also make it hard on ourselves to take back the words we said to the wrong people, at the wrong time. -Habeiba Hassan-
